Andy KerrVia the Denver Post:

I’m proud of the work we did this year, and I’m proud that all of my successful bills this year had bipartisan support. But these important legislative achievements are only the first steps in a long road to improving and strengthening Colorado’s education system. We have more work to do. I was sent to the state Capitol to work on my highest priorities: the economy and jobs. The Keep Jobs in Colorado Act does just that. This bill will help grow our economy, create and keep jobs in Colorado, and put teeth in a law that has existed for 70 years—but was never enforced. I am proud to create an enforceable law that will help pull our state through this economic recovery.”

The “Keep Jobs in Colorado Act,” aims to reduce the outsourcing of public works projects by reforming the bidding process for state work projects. This bill helps to ensure that Colorado taxpayer dollars are being spent on local work.
